I was very happy to find Dr. Ueno. Only a few people do this specific procedure in Japan, and I didn't want the higher-risk procedure that's common.

I speak Japanese well enough, but was happy that Dr. Ueno explained details in English. That just added to the overall mental and physical comfort I felt throughout. There was absolutely no pain during the procedure, nor during the first week after (as he sends you home with a week's worth of pain medication). For the 2nd through about the 4th week after, there was occasionally some mild dull aches, but they went away over time.

If you can visit his clinic, he'll do the post-op sperm test for you after a month or so. I live far away, so I used an outside service, but their report was vague in a way that made me feel they just wanted to pump me for followup tests. Hard to trust that, so I made arrangements to drop off a sample with Dr. Ueno the next time I was in Tokyo, and he certified that there was zero sperm, and the procedure was complete.

I'm very satisfied.
